It uses a contactless, magnetic Hall-effect sensor, so there are no mechanical parts that can wear out. The 8-speed, H-gate shift plate is 360-degree-rotatable. A sequential shift plate, which will allow you to upshift by pulling the gear stick towards the "+" sign and to downshift by pushing it towards the "-" sign, is included as well. You can adjust the gear stick's resistance level, making it easier for you to shift or harder. The gear stick itself features a removable knob, which is compatible with those that can be found in real cars.
Being a T500 RS add-on, the TH8 RS shifter quite naturally works well with Thrustmaster's industry-leading PlayStation 3 steering wheel, but you can use it as a standalone gear changing device with your PC racing video games as well.
The shifter's adjustable clamping system allows you to mount it onto different types of surfaces.
